DIY Block Letters + (ir)relevant Updates!

Heeeeello, I know it seems crazy, but it's me! Yess, here, again. Back.

Sooo, I've been working on my college dues, as usual, and in the meantime I got to upload two more videos: one about hairstyles, about a week ago, and one today. Here you have the hairstyles one. It's a collab with my Youtube friend Barati Kesamang (Pweety Daily) and she's extremely sweet, so you should subscribe to her as well!

About today's video... I got all those cereal boxes because deep down of me I knew I would regret throwing them away because someday I'd  need them. Well, that day came last week, when I decided that my room needed some trendy, cute, tumblr-looking block letters. They are not the most expensive thing if you buy them in store, but making them I had them for (almost) free. Plus, I'm totally into recycling, so... it was like killing two birds with only one stone! Here it is the final product:

As you can see for my face in the pic, I'm pretty happy and proud with how everything turned out. I went crazy on weheartit.com looking for floral images that match the shades I wanted for my room, printed them out, made the letters and... boom! New wall art, completely DIY. The font that I used for my letters is Elkwood, and I downloaded it from dafont.com, where I get all my fonts indeed.

As I say in the video (which you'll find at the end of this entry), I tried to create an ombrè effect. That's the reason I painted the E in the middle, instead of folding it with paper: it is the 'bridge' between red and blue.

What else?? Hmmm... My friend Clara, who designed the doll of my header, taught me how to draw hairstyles using Photoshop. It's awesome that I get to do that, 'cause I'm the most pathetic person in the world when it comes to drawing. But I decided to give it a try and here you have the outcome... I'm planning on making my blog design more personal (most of the images in it are taken for the handy-dandy Google), so I guess I've been doing some more PS drawings in the near future.

Oh, and I got a new Animators' Collection baby! My boyfriend gave me Merida, which I didn't particularly love when I started collecting Animators' dolls, but I think her dress is one of the cutest in the collection. Whatsmore, her hair is amazing. It's super soft and it looks really good. That came as a surprise to me: usually the ones with curly hair have frizzy hair :( Anyway, I'm dying for having the time to make her an outfit! You can bet I'll post it here when it happens :)

And last but not least, I got to say that I gave a makeover to a tools' storage box. I think these devices are really useful for storaging DIY supplies as well, but I have an obsession with pastel colors and before buying something I make sure it's pastel or at least I can make it pastel. So here are some before and after pictures:

I still have some gasps to fill, but I'll sure find more DIY supplies to put in those in the very near future!

Well, that was everything I came to say, I think. Don't forget to check out my DIY Block Letters' video:

Oh, just one more thing! We hit 500 subbies on YouTube. I'm really happy and thankful for that. Seriously, thank you so much for everything!
